I would like help on doing a small bust adjustment on a dress pattern that does not come with a separate bodice--in other words, it's just one long front pattern piece. I have seen lots of sba's for dress bodices, but what do you do with one pattern piece that goes from neckline to hemline?
Also, does anything have to be done with the back pattern piece and sleeve after you've done the sba on the front piece? This is a simple, 3 piece pattern but it won't work for me without some way of greatly decreasing the bust dart.
Many thanks for any advice!

You can make it on the whole front or just cut it apart at the waist, make your adjustment and put it back together again blending the seams.

So if I did the adjustment on the entire piece, then I extend the vertical slash all the way to the hem? If so, it probably would be easier to cut it at the waist, as you suggested.

it might be easer if you revealed which pattern it is.

Getting back to my first question, when I do the SBA, do I need to modify the back pattern and the sleeve? Or only the front pattern piece? Thank you!

I did the SBA as suggested and it came out fine. As best as I can tell, I don't need to alter the back piece, and the sleeve definitely not.
