Date: 3/6/13 7:25 PM I'm interested in ordering the Peggy woven dress from StyleArc, but can't decide what size to order. (I emailed Chole a week ago, but still haven't heard from her.)
I use a SA size 8 for their tops, and they fit perfectly. But in the hips I'm between a 10 and a 12 (39 in). For a dress, this is problematic - Which of the 3 sizes do I order?
Have any of you had a similar issue with ordering a single-size StyleArc pattern? What did you do?

Date: 3/6/13 7:32 PM It seems unusual for Chloe, Lynn, or Liz at SA not to reply. I would email again, in case your message just accidentally got overlooked. I suspect the recommendation will be to get the 8 so that the neck, bust, and armhole fit well, and then grade out at the waist and hip as needed. It's usually easier to alter the bottom in this type of garment. |

Date: 3/6/13 9:31 PM Thanks Barbara - ordering to fit the bodice makes sense. But I'll try another email just in case. |

Date: 3/6/13 10:21 PM I am at least 3 sizes and have had success ordering by my bust size and then grading out at hips and waist. Chloe will send you the grading sheet if you want it, but as their sizing is so wonderfully consistent, I just work out the difference between my measurements and the stated body measurements, divide by 2x the number of seams and add that to each seam. (If it has fancy seams you might want to reconsider the distribution of the extra). I do this for tops and dresses and so far it has worked perfectly. :-) |

2 members like this. Date: 3/6/13 10:49 PM I asked for the grading sheets, because I wanted to stay as close as possible to the way SA would have drafted the size I needed. Their drafting and planned ease is so good; it's why their patterns are worth the price plus the shipping charge. ------ “Never try to teach a pig to sing; it wastes your time and it annoys the pig.” -Robert Heinlein and Ann's father. Date: 3/7/13 12:48 PM How much is the grading sheet and where on the site is it offered. I know that the patterns I ordered for my are much too large right now in the waist and hips (not bust or shoulders) since I have toned up and slimed down a bit. And I ordered one of the patterns in DD size before she bought bigger boobs. ------ JanieV |

Date: 3/7/13 8:06 PM Janie, just send SA a request for it. It was included in one of my pattern orders, since I included the request in the comment section of the order form, but I think someone else emailed the SA ladies and received an email with the grading sheet file attached. ------ “Never try to teach a pig to sing; it wastes your time and it annoys the pig.” -Robert Heinlein and Ann's father.
