Beauticians, anything new that works?
Creams, gloves, paint-on hardeners, right foods
don't help. Must be another wonderful effect of "maturity"?
I read reviews on hydrators vs. hardeners,
of course some are paid to recommend certain brands.

MAVALA , a Swiss product, you can get it on the internet. Expensive, but it works. I used it regularly as a stewardess many, many moons ago, and now only when my nails get too soft.

I have found that Revlon's calcium nail hardener works amazingly well.

I take biotin, found in the vitamin aisle. It has made my nails harder, and maybe my hair appear thicker.

Someone here pointed to this blog Loodie loodie loodie which has amazing nail info. The key for me, since I wash my hands a LOT due to work, is being absolutely relentless in the nail care department. The before bed cuticle cream (I use a thick layer of my face cream) seems to be the most crucial for me.

There's Nailtique--can be purchased at the drug store and I've had great success with Sally Hansen's nail strengthener. My nails would split and flake--such a mess.

Mayonnaise. Any brand. Just rub it in your nails, it works!

My nails got very soft and pealed easily. I take biotin and calcium 2xs a day. My nails are so much better. The biotin helped my 85 year old mother who had the same issues only worse.

Calcium (taken orally) and gloves, gloves, gloves! My nails have never looked better.
