Well, I splurged on these two and can't wait til I can tackle them :) ------ Nakisha - A new sewist with a passion! :)

Date: 3/7/13 11:12 AM I've been sewing for..ummmm... a LONG time, and I still get excited about new patterns. I think you picked a couple of good ones (I've made the Thurlows) and hope that you have fun with both of them. ------ “Never try to teach a pig to sing; it wastes your time and it annoys the pig.” -Robert Heinlein and Ann's father. Funny Karla I was *just* browsing your pattern reviews after coming across your posts in the Thurlow thread when the pattern was first released last summer :) ------ Nakisha - A new sewist with a passion! :)

Have fun! I get really excited about new patterns. . . just wish I had the time to sew them all up. :( I've spent about an hour or so each evening this week cutting patterns and fabrics. Sunday and Monday will be sewing days for me. I have (obviously) cut more than I can sew but I hate the tracing and cutting and fitting parts and just want to sew!!! :)
I'm not quite pear shaped but have huge, muscular quads and an undefined waist that makes buying pants tough. I'm hoping I can sew them up with minimal hassle!------ Nakisha - A new sewist with a passion! :)

2 members like this. Date: 3/8/13 10:31 AM I'm a bit dense here but what is it about the Thurlow pattern? Who or what is Thurlow? I've seen different reviews and comments and to me, it's just another pants/slack/trouser pattern. OR, haven't I been reading the reviews close enough? And what is the difference between pants/slacks/trousers? Okay, now I'll go hide my head in shame |

Date: 3/8/13 12:13 PM Rhoda, the Sewaholic pattern line is drafted for pear-shaped individuals, and when Tasia came out with a pants pattern, there was much excitement, since it's designed for people with more than a 10" difference between waist and hip measurments. It requires far fewer adjustments than other pants patterns, and has very nice beginner-friendly instructions, too. http://www.sewaholicpatterns.com/product/1203-thurlow-trousers -- Edited on 3/8/13 12:15 PM -- ------ “Never try to teach a pig to sing; it wastes your time and it annoys the pig.” -Robert Heinlein and Ann's father.
