Date: 3/7/13 9:34 AM I *heart* The Fuse Chicks!
Their technique is readily accessible and yields fabulous results. I've used Laura's technique of hand embroidery details over the fusible on several pieces and it always earns oooohhh's and ahhh's. Double bonus if you use her breathtaking hand-dye fabrics and threads.
Laura has a class at Craftsy on the basics of her fusible techniques. ------ Brother Innovis NX650Q; Brother Nouvelle 1500; Brother CS6000i; Brother 1034D |

Date: 3/7/13 10:47 AM I have one of Frieda Anderson's books, Fabric to Dye For and two of Laura Wasilowski's books Fusing Fun and Fanciful Stitches, all of which are fun if you're a book junkie like me. I'd forgotten about Frieda's book, and now I'm remembering that there was something in her dyeing recipes I'd wanted to try but then got too busy and forgot about it.
Laura Wasilowski also teaches a Craftsy Class, Hand Stitched Collage Quilts, which is fun, especially if one can wait for one of the super-cheap sales.
I love these mixed-media/collage techniques and I'm having a good time with them right now. It's a fun break from the meticulousness of piecing. ------ Tess
