I am thinking about making a trip around the world using the 8 colors in the coloring box. 4 colors in the center and then each corner a different color or all 8 colors in the center and each corner 2 colors? I haven't even begun to buy the material so I have plenty of time.

I think the eight basic colors would make a dandy quilt.

Speaking only for myself, I would not make each corner a different color. I like the graphic punch of the colors radiating out from the center (even if the colors are repeated). For example:

Rainbow Trip Around the World quilt make with veggie/fruit fabric

Rainbow Trip Around the World in solid fabrics

However, if you have a different vision for your quilt, go for it!

Also, Quilt In A Day has a pattern book called Quick Trip Quilts that explains how to assemble a trip around the world variation with strip sets. You can watch the QiaD show for this technique here.

I think if you have particular vision, you should pursue it.
It you have quilting software, you can get an look at your project's potential. If you don't, simple graph paper and colored pencils could show you your idea's potential outcome.
