the fabric I have to use for the loop on this pattern does NOT match. I was going to buy a chain necklace but not sure I can find a nickel free necklace thats affordabel (and would look awesome, hehe.

any other ideas here?

No photo, but I looked at Reviews here.
I'm not sure to trust using a metal piece for washing, weight, or neck irritation.
Why not pick up a color from the fabric, if it's a print, for the loop, then
tie it together with the same strip on the hem, armhole bindings, or a pin-on flower? Or 2 shades lighter/darker of the same if you have a solid fabric--like a soft purple with a deeper purple of the dress?

I'm not sure I would trust most costume jewlery necklaces to even stay fastened and hold the dress up, particular if dress was long and the hem got stepped on, as I would kind of worry about that.

They sell large lightweight chain by the yard, in with the ribbon trims and such, for garments though at the fabric stores, if you wanted the tie at the neck to look kind of chain-ish, you might be able to slip a fabric tube/tie through some of that kind of chain, and weave it though that, then you would have both fabric and decorative chain there, and the fabric would be really holding everything together, and the dress up, instead though. I think that would look pretty neat.

yeah - I think I'll keep it simple. I prefer simple. sometimes "creative" looks messy to me.

I'll stick with fabric, thanx.

Also you could buy 3 colors of something like cording and braid it together, that way no sewing of fabric tubes?
