I was in Joann's yesterday, and they had a small display of simplicity patterns that begin with zero. I googled the pattern number (which I don't remember now) but couldn't find anything. And I don't see patterns in their site that begin with zero. Anyone know anything about this?

Check out this from their site. They are special patterns apparently.

These aren't "special" patterns. They are actually patterns that are found in Simplicity's current line but for some reason I don't know, they use different numbers for Joann's display patterns. I rember the same thing with me. I went to Joann's and bought a few of the display patterns that started with zero and went home to look them up only to find they are same patterns that are in the current line. When I found the pattern number for the pattern I just wrote it the pattern.

One example from my pattern collection is simplicity 4954 but when I got it from Joann's on the display rack its number is 0628

As you can see they are the same pattern but with different numbers. This was a few years ago. Recently Simplicity must have gotten smart and they started to change the pattern cover slightly so you may think your getting a different or special pattern but if you look for the line drawing you can see which pattern it is from the book such as these two
Simplicity 0343

the same pattern different pattern covers.

The "cabinet" # is usually printed on the pattern tissue.
