this is the dress I bought. i love it! except it is way too low on me, and I usually like lower cut tops, on my CHEST, not deep into the cleavage lol. I was almost thinking maybe hand stitching a triangular piece of fabric down there?

and also, its insanely long. I have no one decent to help me with this. and am not sure if I should just have someone ELSE do it for me or how to do it.

I think you could add a panel across the cleavage area. Maybe a lace of some kind...so you're still being provocative but not blatant.

When I was looking at the photo and imagining it with a panel sewn it, it kept looking like the top edge of the added panel should be slightly curved into a slight dip instead of the top edge being straight across.

See what some others think, but to me, it would seem more consistent with the other curves in the design and not look added on.

You're right, that is a deep cleavage showing.

You might consider sacrificing a black cami top in order to be able to wear the cami under the dress so you can mark the seam line while both garments are stretched and laying however they are going to lay when worn. Maybe hand stitch it in while you are wearing it and then sew it by machine after that.

Good Luck. You probably won't need it, though, as it looks like it will work for you.

Use the scraps from hemming to make a modesty panel, you are lucky they sent along extra matching yardage!

Some black stretch lace would look good as a modesty panel. I also agree that it should be slightly curved rather than straight across.

As for shortening the dress, here's a great idea to get it marked without a helper. String line

okay, thanx all for the advice. I am really liking the lace, except for the fact that the colors that I ave are mgenta and light pink.
