I want to make some yoga pants with Jalie 3022, but I couldn't find any decent performance knit fabric like the brand Lululemon used to use for their pants. I saw this kind of fabric about 6 or 7 years ago at local Fabric land and the content was some sort of nylon. The price was about 60 per meter. But they don't carry it any more. I tried to buy some performence nylon knit from fabric dot com, but it was very thin. Any one knows this kind of source online will be really help.

Try Peak fabrics. I ordered some Lululemon fabric from them a few years ago. It is expensive, but its the good stuff and they will send you swatches (don't remember if you have to pay for them). They have Lululemon listed as "LLL". Peak Fabrics

Edited to add: I just noticed that you are in AB Canada....I believe Peak is too.

I get all of my performance fabrics at RCT fabrics. They are in Portland at fabricline.com. You can talk to them and they will send you swatches.

Peak Fabrics does not have a store front with regular hours -- it is located on the outskirts on the west side and is in a private home (they do have it set up in the basement separate from the living space). The quality of their fabric is topnotch and their LLL is amazing -- next to impossible to get black though.

Best to phone ahead and make an appointment.

Little umbrella, Spandex World has some fabrics with "performance" in their name: high performance spandex.

I haven't ordered those fabrics, so I don't know their weight (they also seem to have a reversible nylon fabric that's two layers--that one can't be too thin). But I've been very happy with costume purchases from that web source. Shipping (inside the US) was very fast.

I'm also going to highly, highly recommend the "Suziplex" from Suzi Spandex in Montreal. They don't have an online shop so you've got to ring them, but do have a physical shop if you find yourself in Montreal!

I'm a distance runner so I make a lot of my own running gear. Standard lycra is okay for group runs or 10ks, or even a half if it's not too hot, but I prefer supplex fabrics for their wicking properties. Lemme tell you, Suziplex is a whole other league above supplex, this stuff is AMAZING! I thought the lady was just giving me a sales pitch but she was absolutely right - if feels like you're wearing nothing at all. The leggings I've made from it are by far my favourites and I've sworn off buying running leggings again. I even ran my first marathon in a pair of my Suziplex leggings.

(the fabric itself is hard to describe - it's hefty, but over 80% 4-way stretch. One face is smooth, but not shiny, and the inside is kinda looped or combed and incredibly soft. And it wicks REALLY well, and withstands bobbling, too)

And now I turn into a crazy woman if anyone I know is headed to Montreal...

I too can highly recommend Suziplex -- I use it a lot in my business sewing for fitness wear as well as team yoga jackets and yoga pants.

I also wear it myself -- have a pair of pants on now -- I love the way it washes and wears. No pilling, no fading. Still looks good after many years. And it really does feel like you are wearing nothing.
