I just bought the latest Quilty issue. It is the March/April one. There is a pattern for a cute quilt made with flannel. I love it. The pattern doesn't say what kind of fabric to use for the backing. Would it be ok to use flannel for the back of the quilt?

Thank you!

Yes- flannel would probably be most appropriate with it. But you can use any other fabric you'd like. There are NO RULES in quilting except enjoy yourself while you do it.

Sure, why not? I think things go more easily if the weights are matched, but Cat usually backs hers in something heavier than cotton (fleece? minke? flannel?) and her quilts are beautiful.

Thank you! I am super excited about making this quilt. Of course, I have to finish the one that I am making for my ds right now. In addition, to the next quilt on my list first.
