Hi, I am about to start on my first pair of Linda Pants, but I am over 6 feet tall so I always need to alter for crotch depth. Since there are no alteration lines I will need to make a best guess.

Has anyone else done this who can offfer advice?

I have not made that pattern, but I am tall too (just barely under 6'). I can usually get by with crotch length and then add length to the hemline. You need to add it where you need it-is the hip to knee length ok for you; knee to hem? If there are no lines on the pattern you can use the grainline (extend it if you need to do so) and a straight edge to add perpendicular lines to cut on. You can tissue fit or make a muslin to get a general idea where the length is needed. Most pants patterns have a lengthen line about midway at the hipline on the front and back. Some will have another line below the hipline for adding length too. Do you have a fitting book of some kind? I have an old Reader's Digest that is pretty helpful. HTH

Hi Marie, I don't have to alter the crotch on Kwik Sew but most other patterns I do. I also compare the Linda pattern to stretch woven RTW that fit me well, and I definitely need to add at least an inch, maybe 1.5.

Sue, thanks for the suggestions, I sent an email to their customer service.

I got the info I needed from Style Arc customer service, made my alterations and sewed my first pair of Linda pants today. It really is a marvelous pattern, goes together so fast! I'll definitely be making more.

My Linda Pant pattern arrived yesterday! I'm really counting on this one to be worthy of all the positive comments here on PR. I also bought the Tori Crop Pant. Can't wait to get started. :)
