Subject: do I need a fitting buddy for this class? Date: 3/20/13 1:18 PM

Hello Sarah,
I am wondering if I will need a fitting buddy for this class. I don't have anyone nearby, and don't know if I can manage to make the fitting adjustments alone. Will the adjustments be of a type that can be done alone?

I am curious, like Rose, if we will need a fitting buddy? Also, what happens if we can't get the fit right in the allowed 2 muslin fitting rounds?

I am also trying to use the coupon code but it will not let me apply it.

Hi Rose,

It is easier to fit pants with a fitting buddy, but you can do it on your own, especially if you can take photos. Following is an answer that I've given other people, and I hope it helps. If you have questions after reading my reply, please be sure to post again here -- I'm happy to answer.

Sarah

While a fitting buddy is helpful, you can manage to fit yourself by yourself, and I do give you quite a number of tips on this. Taking photos and studying them is a really good way to assess the fit you're getting. For many people, it's fitting issues are often more obvious in a photo than just looking directly at the muslin on the body.

In terms of making fitting changes, you can't always make quite all the changes you want to while you're wearing the fitting muslin, but you can make a mental note of what change you want to make (or try out) and where to make it (or at least make a small mark with a Sharpie or marker indicating more or less the place you want to make the change) -- then take the fitting muslin off, pin the change, and put the muslin back on. This is more time consuming for sure than having someone else fit you, and my limit is about three or four rounds of taking the muslin off and putting it back on before I need to take a break. But with perseverance, you CAN get a lot accomplished this way.

Tina,

I've just posted a reply to Rose, so I'll ask you to take a look at that rather than re-posting it here to you.

Because of the amount of time it takes me to study photos that have been posted for fitting help, Deepika and I have decided that we need to set a limit on this. If you need more help after 2 rounds, there will be a way to sign-up and pay for another 2 rounds. Deepika hasn't ironed out the details for this yet, but she's working on it.

Please feel free to ask me any follow-up questions you have.

Sarah

Sherrillann,

I'll let Deepika know. I'm sorry that I can't address this problem for you, but I'm sure Deepika will be in touch soon.

Thanks Sarah. I signed up for the May class anyway. Maybe PR will give me a credit for the extra.

I am really looking forward to this class and also being able to view the videos ahead of time. I think I will be a better student, if I can come prepared.

Sherrillann,

Deepika is pretty good at following up on emails, so my guess is that you'll hear from her.

Glad to have you in the May class!

Sarah
