It was recommended that I check out babylock spirit embroidery machine. I checked the website and it looks good, but I can't find any price info or reviews on it. Does anyone know anything about they can share? Do tell

I don't have specifics, because it will vary a lot depending on the dealer, but based on what I've seen in reviews, I'm going to guesstimate $3800-4100. I was going to look at the Brother equivalent yesterday, but decided on the combo version instead (the Baby Lock version is the Unity), which I ended up getting for $5700. At my dealer, the Brother versions are slightly less expensive, so you may want to consider the Dreammaker, which is essentially the same machine.

I've heard that $3500 to $3800 is average for this machine. I believe my dealer just had a lightly used demo model for $3499. If I wasn't buying a serger at the time, I would have purchased it. Now I'm considering the Crescendo sewing machine and making my Ellisimo Gold my "stand alone" embroidery machine.

That's what I did, only I don't have the Babylock versions, I have their Brother "cousins". I have the Quattro, cousin to the Elissimo and the and I just purchased the Dreamweaver, cousin to the Crescendo. I purchased the Dreamweaver so I could sew while using my Quattro for embroidery. The Dreamweaver/Crescendo is a wonderful machine, I find I use the laser guide all the time for topstitching (I'm a garment sewer more than a quilter).

I just bought the Babylock Spirit and I love it. I have had it for about a month and so far it stitches out like a dream. I haven't had any classes I just have read the manual and tried everything out.

I recently checked on the Spirit and Brother's Dreammaker. Since both of the dealers are within a few miles of each other the pricing was identical. This is the Atlanta metro area and the price was $3299.

I work for a dealer and THAT is a KILLER PRICE for that Spirit!!! Run, don't walk to get that deal! Babylock pricing to dealers went up June 1st so snap that deal before it gets away! I just bought this machine--it has not come home with me yet-its box is behind my desk. It is a big machine-built on the same platform as the Unity (which is a great machine too :wow:) I just came back from a week at Babylock training so got to play with some machines we don't have in the store. It was a Pandora's Box!!!
The Spirit is a FAST machine-both in speed and processing speed. Designs come up REALLY FAST. It stitches at up to 1050 SPM. Stitches are beautiful. Lots of nice NEW built in designs. Sensor pen is nice-does kinda what the "snowman" does on the Ellisimo. I liked the idea that the Spirit is embroidery only and that you can transfer designs via usb or direct from you computer. It has a 7x12 frame and there is a rumour (and it is JUST a rumour right now) that there will be an update come Fall that will let these machines (Unity, Spirit and "their Brothers") to use the 8" frames The Spirit's harp area is 1" longer than the Ellisimo so I can see where that would work if they update the "brains" of these machines. I sure do hope that this is NOT just a rumour!
