So here I am trying yet again to solve the crotch fitting problems I have been having. This time, I tried New Look 6005, which I had tried before, but this time armed with a bit more knowledge. So I adjusted the back seat for a low behind, but was left with the same old problem -- when I sat it pulled down in back, and when I walked it pulled against my front thigh. I began doing research again, and found this page, which suggested that was really one problem, and that I need do the full front thigh adjustment. So I tried that AND IT WORKED! I just sort of played with it, and I will have to do it well, but I am really excited about making progress on solving that problem. Thanks for listening

Now that you have found a solution, make a pattern block so you can quickly alter future patterns.

Good advice, I will. I also realized that the slacks I am wearing at work today actually fit very well, so I may try to do the same thing from them. Without taking them apart.

It's good advice except for a jeans fit, which is close to the crotch. I do like her advice about low front below the waist and high back being comfortable for a woman with a full bust and stomach. I can testify to this being much more comfortable for me.

Congratulations! It sounds like you've mastered what many of us spend years trying to perfect. It's great when you finally find the key to making pants fit.

I'd be interested to know how you did your full front thigh adjustment. I also, often, get the pulling on the front thighs when I walk.

Are you willing to post before and after photos? We can all learn from pants-fitting success.

SVN,

Maybe this article might help. Second page discusses the full front thigh issue.
