I am wanting to take a photo and then something drawn, and turn it into them into an embroidery design both together, and then by themselves. But, I still want to be able to delete stitches within it. What is the best program to get that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, but is easy to use. Also, I want want to edit designs. TIA

I am interested and will be following this post.
I currently have Artista Designer Plus version 4. It was a lot of fun to use and really let me explore my creative side. Kind of got away from embroidery work for a few years and now find I can't update to a newer version of Artista. It is a very expensive software and I don't want to have that much outlay to buy the latest version since i don't emroidery that much any more. But I sure would like an updated software that will work on my Windows 7 operating system. (Artista version 4 uses Windows XP). I am hoping there is something new that would serve my purpose without costing an arm and a leg. I will be following the comments you receive from members to your question.

I would get a computer with xp and keep it for your program.

Embird is a very good program for what it costs. It is in modules so you can buy what you need. The basic is around $150 and the digitizer is around $250. And you get regular updates when Windows is change which seems like now every year.

I am not sure any digitizing software will give you the quality you might expect, especially from an inexpensive photo stitch software.
