Got an unlined blazer with armhole princess seams (on sale!). It fits my shoulders OK and is big enough through the bust but it's baggy in the back & big in the waist & hips. Do I just take it in along the side seams & the vertical part of the back princess seams, or what? I don't want to mess it up, I was totally surprised to even find it.

You could try pinning some of the fullness out of the princess seams too, and taper back to the original seam at the bust. If the back doesn't have princess seams, two double ended darts at the waist area help shape in the waist. Yes the side seams are also another place to subtract fullness.
