Looks like they were hit with a touch of whimsy for summer (floor pie, anyone?)! 6743 & 6746 looked good to me.

6724 looks like a repackage of two dresses from 6612, but in fewer sizes.
I was very pleased with this release, especially 6747 finally a henley pattern! I also like 6740, 6751, and 6741 (pockets!). I was surprised by 6756, lace shorts are very in right now and McCalls usually isn't, but can we talk about the designer suggestions? Or rather just eliminate them?

Eeek. I'm in trouble. I like many of these new patterns, if not for myself then for one of my 20-something daughters. Overall they suit a younger woman. I'm pleased to see a peplum top meant for knits, as that is what I see mostly in RTW and I've only found patterns for wovens til now. And yes, those lace shorts are super cute and my daughters will like those, but the other views would suit me. I take it wide leg trousers are in ... like what I would call palazzos? I haven't noticed those in the stores.

I quite like M6742 - the shirtdress. The seaming in the skirt portion is interesting, and the hi-lo hem is not too exaggerated.

Definitely a younger-skewing set (which is fine). Some cute summery dresses. What happened to the cup-size patterns? I'd buy several of these if they had cup sizes but I didn't see a one that did, including the Palmer/Pletsch.

Funny I just e-mailed McCalls this week as the new season of Fashion Star is on in Canada & they said they weren't producing any new patterns from the show! The one I was hoping for isn't in this lot anyway!

Was McCalls trying to make the main model in pattern M6770 to look like Helena Bonham Carter?

Although I 've only watched the first one, it makes me want to see Helena in a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie [if they make another]...

EDITED TO ADD:
OMG! I would've loved this doll house when I was little:
M6766

Maybe I would make some things out of felt so it could stick to the sides of the wall [also has to be made of felt] of the doll house. Like a bird that could sit on the roof... or a door on the side that could be like a magic door... or put a mirror/picture frames there... stars/sun/crescent moon/raindrops that could stick on the roof... lol... If I was better at sewing, maybe I would make this for little kids stuck in hospitals...
