When Atlanta Thread Supply was swallowed by Wawak I was worried. But now, I'm so thrilled I have to post this somewhere and it's too short for a blog post.

I placed an order on Wawak's website on Monday morning. By Tuesday afternoon, the box was on my porch! And the thread I ordered was 25% off! Ordering from Wawak was almost easier than driving to JoAnn. I think I'm in love!

Yes. Wawak (and it's sister company Cleaner's Supply) does a great job at supplying us with quality sewing items at a great price.

The customer service is fantastic as well. I sent them an email about how the thread color pdfs weren't very accurate and less than five minutes later, I had a response. She said she would send me a thread chart (I got a first class letter with Gutermann, C&C, and Mettler charts) and offered to help if I needed any help selecting threads in the interim, but offered no comment on the pdfs. A few days ago they updated the pdfs and they seem much more accurate now, whether she passed my comment further up or not, it did get fixed.

Great service. Just wish that their Emil specials lasted more than one day. I usually don't have time to respond that quickly.

I've placed several orders with Wawak since learning about them here on PR and I can't say enough about what a great source it is. Their prices are amazingly low on most things.
Can you say zippers?!

UGH ZIPPERS!!! And just everything! I don't think I will ever shop for supplies anywhere else. I got eight cones of serger thread for less than $20!! And the $4.95 shipping is less than the gas it would take me to get to a Joann!! I love itI'm placing a order later today in fact!!

------
2014 resolution: keep track of sewn yardage!! I'm subtracting fabric given away from my yardage in. Yeah!
In: 93 yards
Sewn: 69 yards

I'll try anything once :)

Please excuse my typos...sometimes it is harder to go back and edit on mobile than it is worth!

You can also purchase the Gutermann thread chart that uses samples of real thread. I have one of these, and it's the best way to guarantee you'll buy the right color.

I have purchased quite a few of the Gutermann thread spools (1100 yards) and aim to eventually get all of them. My Diamond has an aversion to C & C thread. Just finished paying $100 for repairs to the bobbin winder because the thread somehow slipped into the notch on the edge of the spool and caused the winding process to stop abruptly and broke the winder in 5 places -- I definitely will never buy another C&C spool again. If I watch for a sale, I can get the Gutermann Mara 100 for less than $2 per spool.

------
Sewn in 2012: 176.212 yds.
2013 Goal: 400 yds (again)
Total sewn in 2013 -- 225.848 yds.
Total yards in inventory 1/1/14 -- 1752.5
Goal for 2014 -- 400 yards (for the third time)

Machines: Designer Diamond, #1+, H Class 100Q, and Viking 400 Serger: 936

Speaking of which, I have a question. Is the Mara 100 comparable to the Guttermann sew-all you get from JoAnn?
