I saw it in person today being demo'd at the local quilt show. I am not sure how much use I would get from it now. However, as I got better and did more quilts, I can see it would be a good idea.

The show goes through tomorrow. I can order it at online also, so no rush. I wanted opinions on it, if you would be so kind.

I am a Quilter at heart. I love to play with fabrics, patterns and colors. Recently I have discovered I enjoy doing applique. I love making pictures. Using a sewing machine is much easier than counted cross stitch or oil painting for me. I enjoy landscape quilting as well. I am working on my first applique project in the spring of 2014.

Haven't seen it or heard about it but I'm left handed and most of the rulers that are made are for right handers.

You can get your ruler to stop slipping for about $3 with those little sandpaper dots.

I never had any luck with the sandpaper dots. Or with the cling stuff that covers the backs.
The ONLY thing that has really worked for me is the silicone Tru Grip rounds that stick on the backs. They are magic!

At first look I thought it might be too bulky and heavy.
However as I watched the demo further it looks like it's really easy to slide. I don't know if I want one, I have good results using Tru Grips on my rulers.

If it works as well as it appears to in the video, it looks like something i'd like to have! i use some dots of some kind under mine but i still get off. maybe i need more dots. seems like it lifts the ruler off the fabric just a tad and lets the fabric skooch. its not usually enough to cause problems but i have had problems cutting perfectly sized strips from day one. The vid didn't say how it works to do what it does. Thanks for sharing.

ETA: prices seem a little steep tho--$30 for 14" size and $46 for 24" size.

It looks pretty neat. I'm left handed also and from the video it appears that the handle isn't centered on the base but rather is further to the left so I don't know if it would work as well for a left-handed person.

I gave one of these to my best sewing pal and she LOVES it. She does all kinds of sewing along with quilting and says that she uses it for straight cuts in garments as well as for home dec and quilting. She has the shorter length one that I selected after watching the video. Andsewforth, I 'think' the wooden piece is centered but I'm not looking at the tool right now. It is very well made and designed.

I've also seen it demonstrated at a show. Several people did come up to the vendor and bought another or commented on how much they liked it!

How does she store it? I have a problem with space already. Are they expensive?
Seems like a good idea.
