Have you bought fabric? Want to show off your purchase? Need advice on what pattern to sew with your new finds? Share it here!

Last weekend I went to NYC...

I stopped by Metro first.

From left to right, lightweight cotton shirting (that Vogue pattern with the cut-on sleeves, possibly lined with batiste as it is sheer-ish), rayon lyrca (Vogue
1261 with the cowl); red cotton gauze (??), orange stretch cotton sateen (Simplicity 1883 jacket); rayon sweater knit (Vogue 8854 hoodie); orange handkerchief linen (??); wool novelty stripe suiting (??) and a very nice meaty wool knit (??).

Then I picked up some swimwear at Spandex House (no pic), and these two linens at Grey Line linens:

The stripe will be an oop Burda 7932 that can be made with stripes going in all directions, and an iridescent two-tone linen for the Chado Ralph Rucci Vogue 1347.

Today I went to an indie fabric store down the way -

Red print for a Kwiksew camp shirt for my father, umbrella wax print for a shirt for me, stripe wax print for something funky, indian print cotton for an early period banyan, and some textured rayon for a Sewing Workshop pattern.

And now no more fabrics for me until I have room on my fabric shelves again...

A lot of the time I forget what I intended by the time I get around to sewing the fabric....but both of the green knits are now cut out and in the sewing queue! I am behind on my spring sewing (it is only supposed to start getting warm next week), so I need to get cracking on some stuff for work...

What are you planning to make with those nice plaids, MrsCharisma?

ps. to embed flickr pics, open a small text editor window and paste in the entire thing that pops up under the "share" tab for "html/bbc code". In the middle of the text gibberish will be something in double quotes right after

img src=

starting with http and ending in .jpg. Copy out just that section from http to jpg and excluding the double quotes. This is what you paste into the Image box on the message board, it is the static address of the actual photo and not the entire flickr page.

Ooh. I'm going to try it!Thanks!

With that luscious banana yellow and the houndstooth/plaid - blazers. I am going to tackle a muslin for a jacket in the next couple of weeks. I am lucky to have a fairly easy to fit upper half (fingers crossed!). With the grey plaid - pants, with the (AMAZING) chocolate wool crepe - pants!

I started to build a pretty good stash of bottomweight fabric for pants, however they're kind of boring all sold colors. I have some navy blue poly/cotton twill, olive green cotton twill, gray linen/cotton, and over the weekend I bought some twill from FashionFabricsClub but I don't remember what color, and 24 yards of 12 oz denim off ebay.

After quite a long fast, I got desperate for some new fabrics. I had a couple of good Joann coupons so I came home with this little stash:
