Hi

My Omnigrid mat cracked (something dropped on it ) and went to replace it. The Olfa mat that I got is much thinner.

I cut on the dining room table and wonder if the cutter would go through.
No plans in the works for getting a different one, (cost/ environment). I guess that I could just place the new one on top of the old one if needed.

Also can they be recycled?
Guess that I will have to rig up a damage- free a way to transport it.

Thanks for suggestions!

I can't speak for the Olfa mat, but I use a cardboard cutting board under my Fiskers mat, largely out of paranoia.

I have an olfa mat. My rotary cutter does not cut through the mat. I've pretty well abused it and somehow it's still okay.

I even use my button hole chisel on mine and have had no problems, or "go throughs"

Thank you for your comments. Think that I won't worry about it then as it seems a little tricky to stack them up on top of each other. the old (Omni) one was a lot thicker but maybe not necessarily better. Might try the cardboard idea. Will be much more careful when transporting it.
