Subject: Petite Form vs Girls Form Date: 4/8/13 11:27 PM

I was originally planning to buy a PGM 601 in size 2, but after checking my measurements for a class I took last fall I don't think a regular sized from will work for me at all. I have a back waist measurement of 13.5 inches as measured by another student in the class. This seems awfully short to me, especially considering the MyTwin Petite form has a back waist of 14.5". I am 5'2" (and a bit) so while I'm petite, I'm not "that" short...but I have always considered myself short waisted (I can wear pants with a 30in inseam without hemming them up, but usually I measure for 29" - 29.5").

I was thinking of getting the PGM 601 size 2 form, but with a back waist of 15, I don't think it would work for me. I looked at the girls forms and almost cried about the price difference.

The 14G looks like it might be the best fit though, with some padding.
It measures:
Bust 32
Waist 25
Hip 33

While I measure
Bust 33.5
Waist 28
Hip 36

I'm sure my shoulders are broader, as well as my cross back and shoulders. My lower body is definitely bigger, but I hadn't planned on a form with legs anyway. Are there any other options out there for me that don't involved making a custom form...My hubby didn't seem to keen on the idea of wrapping me in tape or plaster bandages...

I have a back waist measurement of 14" (I'm also 5'2"). I searched and searched until I found a used petite Wolf form on eBay and padded it out.

I am a short waisted petite (33-25-36) and I padded out a PGM size 2 dress form to replicate my figure. A short waist simply means your hips start higher up on your body than most women's hips. You can shorten the waist of a nonadjustable form with padding but you cannot lengthen it. To shorten the waist of a form, simply pad the hips out where your hips start.

That's a good point...I hadn't thought of it that way.

A couple questions for you though:

1. If you start padding the hips out higher, you effectively use the usefulness of the waist marking on the form. Does this loss, effect the usefulness of the form for you in anyway? Did you compensate for it somehow (remark it)?

2. I read in another thread the the Fabulous Fits pads were too large to be useful in padding out a form for a petite sized person. What did you use to pad out your from?

Use a form that's the best match for your shoulders.
