I just thought many of you would enjoy watching this show, which I'm LOVING. I SO APPRECIATE You Tube User Ladie Scuddleshore posting them so we can all view.

This is a link to the first episode:

This is a link to the second episode:

What I did was I subscribed to the Ladie Scuddleshore's channel, so I get a notification when the new episode is available.

That's all!

I was interested to read that you've picked up on this TV programme which has just started in the UK. As far as I'm aware this is the first time there's been a programme, in the UK, devoted to a sewing competition. It's aroused a lot of interest, and comments, from the sewing community.
Some of us, whilst happy that the art of sewing is finally being recognised, are not happy with the standard of the programme (it would take too long to list some of the criticisms I've shared with sewing colleagues). I watched the second episode last night, which was better presented than the first. I think the BBC (who are responsible for the programme) has had a lot of feedback from sewers throughout the UK. I certainly have put my 'opinions' in. I'm sure I'm not alone. It would be good if we could have comments from non UK sewers. What do you think of it???

I just watch the second episode. It is a wonderful sewing show. The anticipation of who went home on episode two was intense

Isn't it a wonderful examination of what it takes to produce a nice garment? I love watching the process. It surprised me to see Stuart blossom...he seemed to find his mojo!

KBT, I am interested in the criticisms of the program BUT let me tell you, it is so much better than US shows like Project Runway. The US programs focus on the snarkiness of the contestants. I was delighted to see normal people on GBSB. I must admit to being a big fan of Ann Rowley's sewing.

I SO agree. I watched Project Runway, as well, and sometimes I think the participants were PICKED based on just how snarky they could be. I love The Great British Sewing Bee, even though I've only seen two episodes thus far. I hope there will be many more to come.

I must say that I love this show. I am happy that it is being posted on youtube.

I enjoy watching the contestants sew. And it is nice not hear any backbiting.

I'm another one who is loving this show! There is a lengthy discussion about it over at Stitcher's Guild (where Ann Rowley is a member), and nearly everyone is giving it rave reviews. (members there are from a number of different countries, including Britain)

It's definitely a step (or 3) above the U.S. reality programs, where drama is, apparently, more important than actual content.

Thank you Annette for the link , I have just watched the first episode and really enjoyed it! I agree re project runway, the Australian version also seems to place more emphasis on the personalitys of the contestants rather than the sewing.
