Do you know if this is the old 2-ply that they're closing out. I wasn't able to tell.

Yes I think so that's why I was interested. I think it will be like Aurifil as the is two ply as well. I'm really not sure though.

I clicked on one of the pictures of a spool which enlarged it enough to see that it is 50/2.

Honestly, I have both 2 and 3 ply spools of Masterpiece and though I can see a very very slight difference... as far as accuracy in my quilts - it hasn't made a single difference. In my humble opinion, it is much to do about nothing regarding these two threads. Just sayin'!

Another great find, QW! You find such cool stuff. All my Masterpiece is the older 2 ply, never had any breakage or trouble. They say they went to 3 ply due to breakage in "tightly-tensioned" machines or some such.

Fwiw, Connecting Threads used to have the Frosted Donut collections for less than $30, I don't remember exactly how much. Love those.

Btw, QW, you've got me hooked on MSQC now.

I know I'm being dense but MSQC ?

I might get some Masterpiece next week when I get paid. That price is just too good. By the yard that stuff is more expensive the Aurifil. And 600 yards is a decent size spool.

And here I thought you were talking about PBS. If I wasn't on a thread/zipper/elastic/interfacing/yadda yadda fast, I'd buy some. It looks like beautiful thread. (notice I didn't say ''fabric'')

For those of you who are not already hooked on the daily deal or the website, here it is.

I am a Quilter at heart. I love to play with fabrics, patterns and colors. Recently I have discovered I enjoy doing applique. I love making pictures. Using a sewing machine is much easier than counted cross stitch or oil painting for me. I enjoy landscape quilting as well. I am working on my first applique project in the spring of 2014.
