I made this pattern New Look 6164 from an ITY jersey. There is a problem with the skirt part - it clings to every little bump (and there are lots of them!). I don't have enough to cut a new skirt part, so I wondered if lining that part would help. Any ideas? TIA

Try a full slip first. I'd take the dress to a lingerie department and try on different slips to see what materials do the best for you. I'd avoid a 1/2 slip because the waist elastic may create an extra crease that's not there in the 1st place. Who needs 1 more?

I have lots of slips and being lazy avoid linings especially on knits. I prefer them to float on me, unencumbered by a lining.

I make most of my full slips now out of nylon satin spandex. It is comfortable to wear, easy to care for, and thick enough to help smooth out things. I find nylon tricot is just not thick enough for really clingy fabrics.

Good to know, thanks. Have a reliable resource for nylon satin spandex?

Thanks for the advice. I actually went back to the fabric store and bought another metre of the fabric (for a whole $4). I'm going to cut a new skirt with more width and see how that goes. Next stop lining or slip.

I've used bathing suit lining fabric cut just a tad smaller than the skirt or bodice. That stuff holds you in!
