I was watching a sewing show in which there was a removable extension table for the serger. The extension table kept the bulk of the fabric from hanging off just as it does on a conventional machine. What a neat idea! I love my serger and I wouldn't switch brands just for an extension table. So I went to IKEA and found a solution for $25.

This is the Haro folding table. It folds up and stores in the closet if I don't need the extra space. It's the perfect height. Not a custom fit, but certainly functional. And did I mention it costs $25? It may not be a solution for everyone, but I wanted to share just in case someone can use the idea.

Looks like the right height for serger. You also have a nice table you can use elsewhere when not using serger. Thanks for sharing.

Oh my gosh!!! I've been looking for a table like this, but unfortunately they don't sell it online.

An ironing board will also work if you have the room.

Problem with an ironing board is, not only does it take up a lot of room, but the serger will walk all over it, making it tip. I tried it and it almost completely fell.

No, no, no - you set the ironing board up beside the serger so it hangs over the table the serger is sitting on.

Good idea with the table! My. Solution was to buy a Sew Steady table meant to fit my particular overlock machine. I love it.
