New Look

A few cute things, definitely some of the summer trends. I like the knit tank dress.

I wasn't initially particularly drawn to any of them, but the line art on 6212 shows promise. I am huge sucker for back cut outs. I would get 6208, but I already have a princess seamed bodice and a pair of scissors, good for inspiration though. I'm sort of surprised I don't like more of them, I usually like about half the patterns in New Look releases and living in SoCal the summer patterns are the ones I'm most drawn to.

I'm wondering what designer thought it was a great idea to make the back hems longer. I've seen this in a lot of the new patterns coming out for Summer. Only makes us short people look shorter and dumpier.

I'll probably get 6212 & 6213.

In Manequim magazines, these styles are described as "mullets". pfff!

When I see the long short look dresses from the front, my eye is drawn to the inside back hem. Not really where I would want the focus on any of my dresses.

Eh, none of them look too special, really.

I quite like 6209 with the Dior Darts! 6215 and 6217 could make nice wardrobe additions - though yes, they're hardly thrilling patterns!

The cut outs in 6211 though... eek.

You don't like the love handle windows that look like you ripped your dress reaching up for something? I look forward to wearing it, people think my legs are white, wait until they see my obliques. I'll be able to fight crime by lifting my cardigan and blinding the perpetrator as they run past me.

I like 6209 and 6210 but they look like remakes of another pattern...

Snooooooze.
