I don't think there is such a thing. I have used Google, Bing, Yahoo! and AOL. This is what I found: "Do you mean presser foot?"

Must be a colloquialism.

I wonder if people get confused because some have adjustable pressure or because the foot puts pressure on it. Maybe it is one of those things that people mis-hear (think of all of the song lyrics that happens to) or could just be a colloquialism.

it doesn't matter what type of sewing you do. you are sewing, and sewing is good.

Well, Patti Ann, I'd say those search engines are pretty smart to know what people meant to say!

We should clear it up for anyone reading this though because countless people on PR say pressure feet which is wrong.

All those little feet that you change on your SM -- regular, zipper, straight stitch, satin, open toe and so on are called "presser feet."

Some SM's have pressure adjustment which regulates how hard the presser feet push down on the fabric. Other SM's have no pressure adjustability. They use some type of a spring mechanism to automatically adjust the pressure.

But the feet are called 'presser feet.'

There is no such thing as pressure feet.

Adjustable foot pressure as the last post said is usually a dial or knob that allows the foot pressure to be lowered for stretch sewing. And delicates etc etc. I never buy a machine without this most useful ability.

I often feel the mix up is due to spelling error

If in doubt,throw it out!

I guess they are. Just got another one that provided what I was searching for using " Do you mean......".
