I searched here but couldn't find anything on how each of the big 4 pattern companies run as far as sizing.

There was a thesis done on this topic.
Here is a google quick view of it:
An Investigation of the Sizing, Grading, and Fit of Commercial Sewing Patterns
It compares the big 4 using the same type of dress.

Gorgeous Fabrics talks about this paper:
Damn pattern doesn't fit? It's not you (necessairly)
"If you want to get to the pictorial evidence, just head straight to page 96."

I think there were discussions about this paper here on PR, too.

After several years of sewing for myself again, I have come to the same conclusions about the big 4 that I have always had. For some reason, I do better with Simplicity and New Look and always have. I find the pattern size that I need (an 18) is pretty consistent. McCalls seem to run a bit big for me and can vary-I usually need a smaller size. Butterick is just not a good fit for me no matter what (and they never have been). I seldom use Vogue. I only started buying Kwik Sew last year and I like it best so far for fit and accuracy-that may change since McCalls bought them out. For most knits I need to go down to a 16 and sometimes even a 14. I am too cheap (and loyal) to buy very many of the independent brands although I have bought several Jalie and like them very much. It has been trial and error for me but I am doing pretty well now with fit. HTH

I think you just have to go to the individual reviews, because it varies from pattern to pattern, even among the same companies.

I've come to the conclusion that certain designers (not as in the designer patterns, but "anonymous pattern maker #4) draft more for RTW sizes than the stated pattern sizes. Not always, but sometimes.

There are a couple books out there, Sandra Betzina's Fast Fit, and I believe Clotilde's Sew Smart that has a chart of the Big 4 and their fitting issues. I know Sandra talked about it in her Craftsy class, Pant Construction Techniques.
