I love this dress for a lot of reasons and it is beg. to show its age. Is there anyway I can alter in a way to make it stronger so it can last longer. Does that make sense?

I will not buy and fabric until I use my fabric stash at home, I said. And then I laughed and laughed and laughed............

I started to ETA above but decided to leave my first picture post alone since I got it right.

So, the fabric is see-thru and the design seems to be sagging from its self. I don't hang it up-wash it often, etc.

Could I add interfacing? Or would that make it worse?

Any ideas appreciated.

Maybe it would be worth taking Kenneth King's class on Clone Your Favorite Garment so you can make a replacement? He is super wonderful as an instructor. Also, this is a video class which allows you to work at your on pace and you can post photos and ask questions and get his commentary as you proceed.

Edited: I didn't see the replies on this at first. It sounds like you can't fix it. I agree with Eleanor - how about making a copy?

Sometimes it makes things worse when you try to reinforce a garment that is already showing signs of wear. Voice of experience...

Take it apart and use it as a pattern to make a new one.
