My husband made me my quilt shop even though...he had to wonder if he was making me a place to live away from him also.Things were hot and cold at the time. But, nevertheless, he persevered, like a quilter that is making a project that ultimately she doesn't know what she is going to do with it, but will figure out something.
Luckily it worked out for both of us to have this haven away from the house to go to to create or even to just BE.
On monday I am hosting a quilting retreat for 5 ladies. We are sewing, quilting, and crocheting. We are praying as well, so happy for the friendship and hobby that brings us together at this place my spouse made possible.javascript:emoticon('')

That's wonderful to have a place to call your own. You husband is a doll.

I will tell him a lovely lady thinks he's a doll. He'll be embarrassed, or maybe just feel appreciated.

Last week he insisted on driving the 3+ hours to go to Racine, WI, to go to Sew 'N Save, where we picked up my new Janome 8900. Now that's a nice husband.

Really, really like that machine and the 2 hour lesson Jim at Sew 'N Save gave me. Quilting here I come. What are YOU currently making?

What a fabulous husband you have, it is so nice to hear of the lovely things that people do for others.

Your haven sounds WONDERFUL! I'd love to see pictures of it!

Yes, that IS a good husband that will drive 3 hours to pick up your machine.

Have a GREAT time with your retreat ladies AND sewing on your sweet new machine!

My DH built my sewing room as well and seems to supporting all my sewing efforts....along with helping me decide on machines. Cat...your husband bought you your new Pfaffs right?
Tell your husband he is very appreciated by us!!!
I have a friend whose husband is one of the nastiest people I can imagine. She was working on a quilt and put out the pieces on the floor and asked him what he thought...he said "It looks like a bunch of s--- on the floor." Can you imagine having someone like that ? His problem is he is so self absorbed...anything that take her interest from his is frowned upon.
Aren't you lucky? Do not take it for granted!!!

Threaddy that NASTY man just made me shudder!

And YES!! My wonderful SWEET darling hubby is the one that just brought me home TWO new Pfaff's! I will tell him he's appreciated!

Today is our 24th anniversary!

Forgot!

The first quilt I ever made I also had laid out on the floor and I was so excited I of course HAD to share with hubby. He looked at it and said "D@mn my wife is talented!" What a difference having a true partner in your life makes.

I would think it would be better to have no husband then to have a husband like that. My husband can't do a lot for me cos of his health issues but he does what he can.
