I was thinking of starting a closed facebook group for quilters. Anyone interested? If I get enough people will set it up. Obviously you have to have a facebook account which is free. A closed group means that only approved members can see posts. And by approved I mean you have to be approved to join the group.

I will miss you all if you hang out together on FB instead of here I don't FB. I have an account but I hate it and don't use it. Call me a fuddy duddy.

Is there some reason you are unhappy hanging here at PR?

Oh no not unhappy at all. It's just it's a lot easier to share things and post pictures on someplace like facebook. But doesn't seem like anyone is too interested so will leave the idea for now.

I don't like sharing too much on facebook. I share WAY more personal things here. The pics on FB are a pain sometimes too, I have trouble getting them to load all the time.

I like out little quilter's corner here on PR! You all are the best group, it is so friendly and encouraging.

well a closed group no one else sees it but who is in the group. Actually FB is probably more secure on that note then this forum is. But I like it here also.

There is an open quilt community on Google +.

If you only are on facebook, Maddy has a quilters group called The BadAss Quilters Society--BAQS

About BAQS:

"What made you decide to start Bad Ass Quilter Society?
BAQS started when I wrote a post about how there needed to be more BadAss quilters and the world needed to know about them. I had gotten tired of people making the assumption that I was something that I was not based purely on the fact that I quilt. To be frank, the world at large thinks that quilters are boring dud’s . I hate to pigeonhole anything or anybody so I started BAQS on a lark seeing if there were others out there that felt the same way.
I could not have been more shocked at the response when day by day, the numbers on the Facebook page grew by leaps and bounds with more and more people pulling their virtual chair up the BadAss table telling their story. And finding others who like themselves, who were looking for more connection above that of just what sort of quilting they did and more to WHY they quilted and the Awesome attitude they brought to the process. Some have asked if I am trying to build an alternative to the MQG movement and I say “NO WAY”….. in fact we have many happy MQG members who also hang out at BAQS.
BAQS is about being MORE and not using rigid descriptions, rules or styles as a way to keep people out. I want a place of cheerleaders…ok possibly cheerleaders with smart-mouths… a place where you can show off ANY quilting you do and expect a smile, a hug and a pat on the back… and maybe even a “ hell yes!” or a “OMFG that rocks!” The world needs more BadAss support… and that is why I began this adventure.
We currently have over 1000 members and always welcome more! Facebook is our main hub of communication, but soon we will have a dedicated website, store and Gallery to show off the work of our member’s. BAQS will also making an appearance at some of the best quilt shows handing out swag including pins and t-shirts to those we see who embody the spirit of the best in BadAss quilting. These are going to be stealth maneuvers… sort of like quilting ninjas!"
