I did a muslin of this Butterick vest. After just a couple of tiny adjustments, it fits great. But the horizontal seam under the bodice would need to be finished nicely, since it is an open vest. I am going to be using an embroidered linen. Any ideas on how to finish that seam?

Depending on the weight of your fabric you could do a French seam, a flat felled or a mock flat felled seam. Here is a link to a few seam finishes.

And a link to a mock flat felled seam- which would be the way I would go for your fabric type and weight. Mock Flat Felled

If you do not want a visible seam on the right side of your fabric, another option is to bind the seam, but make sure you use a very lightweight fabric to do so.

Thanks, the mock flat fell looks like it might work really well. I did think of binding, but thought it would get very bulky.
