Does anyone have a Babylock Coverstitch 2 that they don't love?

Hi all,
I'm new to PR and have a question. I've been wanting a cover stitch machine for a while now and have looked at reviews of the Brother, Janome, and Babylock machines. I was recently at the Babylock dealer and saw an open box cover stitch machine (BLSC2) almost completely unused for $1100. I put it on layaway because it seemed like a good deal (I got them down to $1000) and I can pay for it within 3 months with my own non-household spending money plus the money I've been saving up for a while. But then I had that feeling of, "Oh crud, I just spent a lot of money". So here's the thing: I don't have a lot of time to be figuring machines out or dealing with mechanical frustration of any sort. I have a teenager at home and a medically-fragile, mobility-impaired lovely, LOVELY, six year old. So when I finally do have time to sew I need a machine that's going to work and not give me any hassles. Do any of you have the BLCS2, and is it worth the extra money you paid (over the Brother or Janome)? Have you had any buyer's remorse? Has the small harp size been a problem for any of you? Thanks for any experience you can share.

I own the BLCS2. You couldn't get that machine away from me. It's worth its weight in platinum.

There is nothing to figure out with the BLCS. Plug it in, feed it thread, and coverstitch things.

my dealer wants $1350.00 before sales tax for the BL Coverstitch. Too Much. I decided to go with the Janome because it has more Harp area and it has 3 needles. For as much as i will use it, this is fine for me. With the Babylock, what you are paying for is the jet air threading. Something i discovered is not so important for me. You need to do what is good for u. Good Luck.

PS: I think either machine will be pretty much trouble free.

The BLCS also does 3 needles.

The price covers a lot more than just the air threading, imo. One of the features I like most about the BLCS is ability to chain off. I've owned various CS and sergers in my life, but since trying BL, I'm not going back, no way no how.

But cheap, they aren't, and as you say, everyone needs to find the CS, serger and SM that best suits their needs.

I don't think I have ever read anyone post a complaint anywhere on the internet, about their Babylock coverstitch machine. The only reason I do not own one is because of the price. They are the cadillac/lexus/mercedes benz of the coverstitch machines.

I purchased a BLCS2 about 6 months ago, and I have nothing but praise for it. I own a babylock combo machine, but the coverstitch quality is much better on the standalone BLCS2.
It is exemplary- and I agree that the machine is extremely easy. Thread and coverstitch.

I already owned a Babylock Imagine, so I felt comfortable purchasing the Babylock Coverstitch. It was a floor model so I received a discount. I do not have experience with other brands, but these machines are easy enough for beginners to handle which encourages me to use them more often. They are long term investments so the price was worth it in my opinion.

FWIW, I think you have a full plate, and if you have some money to spend on you, just enjoy it! A quality machine is always worth the money, and so are you. I'm pretty positive that occasionally sewing/knitting keeps me sane and really helps me decompress, and I don't feel guilty for spending money on it! As they say, it's cheaper than therapy.

I smile everytime I use my BL coverstitch or Imagine. No swearing at these machines.
