Which machine do you think is most dependable? best overall quality of the way the machine is made? best stitching? most hassle free? i like a sturdy machine. i'm considering a TOL Babylock Ellisimo Gold, BL Unity, BL Crescendo, or H/Viking Designer Diamond Deluxe. Also would like some idea of prices. Thanx.

Three of those machines are combos. Are you wanting to embroider? I see you have a brand new Brother NX-2000 for sale. That is a lovely machine. You should give it a try and maybe buy an embroidery-only machine, like the Brother PE-780D. If you want to spend more and have bigger hoop area, go for the BabyLock Spirit or Brother DreamMake XE. That way you can sew and embroider at the same time. You would be saving a lot of money overall. The combo units can get quite expensive. I heard a quote yesterday for the Viking at $7999 in Joann's. Are you familiar with Vikings or BabyLocks? You should try out the ones you are interested in and maybe more than once.

Try out those you are interested in.

Dealers prices can vary by geographical location and volume.

My personal preference is babylock.

Personally, I'd probably go for the Viking, but that's because I was impressed with the feed, and the fabric sensor system (I forget what it's called), and I love the looks of them. I like the feet far better than the BL feet, especially walking foot.
However, the BL Ellisimo is a fantastic machine, and that camera for the embroidery is not to be discounted. I am not doing quite as much embroidery lately, so that would likely influence my decision. I'd go for the sewing features more I think.
The sound and sewing feel will be different. You'll just have to test them both, and buy what sings to you.
Good luck, and have fun!

I upgraded last year from a Viking 190 (basic older machine, but still love that old girl - good workhorse machine) to a BL Elisimo Gold. I tried a lot of TOL machines - Bernina, Viking, Pfaff and chose this one because it is so user friendly and has some really wonderful features (too numerous to mention here, so do read reviews here on both machines). As one lady said - it sang to me.
Do try both machines to see which one fits you.
Curious why you don't try your Brother out??? I agree with Karen that you could save a ton of money and still have both!

I purchased a Babylock Lauren, bcuz of my baby hvnt broken out with it. I'm thinking of exchanging it for a Diana... bcuz of the coverstitch capability. I'm accustomed to industrial servers, coverstich, flatlock, etc., and am unsure
Any thoughts?

I've owned Babylock machines for the past 10 yrs. So, I'm biased towards that brand. I have the Ellisimo, and love it! However, if you have the Innovis, and the other member stated, and you are selling it, I wonder why. That is a fabulous sewing machine! Now, if you want to machine embroidery, Don't sell your Innovis, but buy one of the new Babylock or Brother "embroidery only" machines.

I have the new Brother DreamWeaver VQ3000 Sewing machine, plus the Ellisimo. If I knew what I know now, I would have the Brother DreamWeaver for sewing (love it)---like you have your Innovis for sewing, and I would buy one of the "embroidery only" machines.
Since I have my 2008 Ellisimo, which I use primarily for embroidery, I'm happy and blessed. I do however feel it is a waste have the Ellisimo to just use it for embroidery. However, it's nice when my daughter or sister come over and we can "sew" together. Both machines are set up next to each other in my sewing room.

As for brands, I prefer Babylock or Brother machines for their ease of use and the feed dog systems, and they are super quiet.

Here is a link to an interesting video regarding your Innovis. I hope it inspires you to keep this wonderful sewing machine your already own.
