... so I was out with my Mom shopping greenhouses last week, and in the gift shop was a display with a video playing showing the reno rose scarf/shawl ...

Reno Rose

It was love at first site, but at $44.95, I got to thinking, it's only one piece of fabric, I should be able to do that!!

In reviewing her website, she describes how it is an oval, cut on the bias, with the neck slit off center to allow for two different lengths. Definitely sounds pretty basic to me. I picked up a couple of nice fabrics over the weekend and hope to try one for myself.

Anyone else seen / have / made one for themselves? I think they are so amazingly versatile and gorgeous!!

yes, I saw that diagram too.

Forecast here is for rain the rest of the week, so I should be able to find some time to try sewing one!!

I have a sleeveless dress that needs some type of topper. I think this would look great.

I made one and will get back to this thread in a couple of days with pointers. It was not hard, but accuracy in cutting perfectly on grain is the key or it hangs every-which-way and looks funny.

Thats exciting. I look forward to the tips. I guess I will need to practice my rolled hems. I haven't done any for a while.
