Ok. New plan at DC conference involves me picking up a rental car from Dulles (we fly out of there the next day).

Which means I may just have to off set this waste of my time by stopping to shop for Fabric near the airport.

Is there anything out that way? Or is the best use of time to just head to G Street?

I figure I will take RT 50 into DC through Falls Church and see the G street at 7 corners. My late Gram lived on Overhill Rd, so I grew up shopping in that mall... ;)

I think that is a plan, don't you?

I know there's a G Street at
5077 Westfields Blvd
Centreville, VA 20120

Google Maps says that it's 8 miles away.

(I don't have a car, so I can't judge whether this is at all realistic.)

If you grew up shopping in that mall, that's the place to go for you. If you care, there's a Joann's on the other side of that mall.

But if I was at Dulles, I'd zip down to the G Street in Centreville, Va.

Take Va. Rte 28 south from the airport. Here's the map G Street links to.

Keep going south on Va. 28 and you'll run into I-66, which will take you into DC.

Oh wow, thanks! I had no idea that Centerville was that close to Dulles, though here in Los Angeles 8 miles can mean an hour in traffic depending on the time of day.

And now to go kick myself for letting that Living Social deal for G street pass....

Definitely go to G Street in Centreville. Really easy to get to from Dulles airport and won't take long. Always fun being in a new fabric store. I love the fabric at G street. High quality. If you hit it during a sale, it's great! Enjoy!

Traffic at 7 corners is the seventh circle of hell. Yes, it could take an hour. I live in Falls Church just a couple miles from that G street store and only take back roads in non rush hour. Taking the main road had me sitting at the multi-light intersection for 20 minutes. Plus it's a very confusing area. It's named 7 corners for a reason, and it's not a fun one. Upside, someone mentioned the Joann's. There's also a Barnes and Noble. Across the main road(s) from little Vietnam if you would like that shopping or food. And Falls Church City has some interesting little shops and restaurants.
