I've done quite a bit of research, and have narrowed my choices to 2 brother machines:

XR9500PRW

CS6000i

If you are familiar with these machine, which would you choose? $15 difference in price.

Guess I'll jump in here. I have a hunch they are similar quality-wise. The 6000i has many more reviews on Amazon bc its been out longer...so there are vastly more positive reviews and also more negative reviews but overall...its a crowd pleaser. The PRW has fewer reviews but most are positive and none negative. For that reason, I think you'd be safe to choose the PRW and get the extra stitches and neat bag. I didn't look to see how many feet come with each machine but I noticed the PRW does have the extension table. Buy from a place that will accept returns so that if it doesn't pass muster, you can send it back for a refund.

I bought a PRW machine off eBay last year and was delighted with it. Lightweight enough to take to classes, yet feature-rich for the money. Either machine will be a great buy, but I see on Amazon that the csi comes with a hard cover.

Like the CSI for the extension table, but would prefer to give each one a test drive first.

I notice the CS600i is considerably heavier. Could this mean a sturdier machine? Considering this one myself; I would like the "lightning" stitch for stretch fabrics for one thing. Many of the Brother machines have it and I see now Bernina has copied it.
