Hi, I am looking at a huskeylock 936 and it is missing the M foot. Is this a good machine and what is the M foot used for?
Thanks,
Gail

It's a good machine, I have one and the lesser 905. There is an active Yahoo group for it.

The M foot is used for flat locking. Which I've never done in 10 years with it

This is an excellent serger that enables you to have more time to serge. That is because you won't have to adjust each individual tension anymore. You program the type of stitch and weight of fabric you're working with into the Sewing Advisor, dial in the appropriate settings and the machine does the rest for you. It doesn't get any easier than this. Of course, threading takes some getting use to, but with practice, you'll have a much loved serger in your sewing arsenal.

The "M" foot is the multi-purpose foot. Besides flatlocking two fabrics together, you can use it to flatlock lace, elastic or fringe to fabric. It's also used for doing a blind hem. The adjustable guide on the "M" foot can be used anywhere you need precise stitching and/or consistently even seams.

Do join the 936 Yahoo group. You'll find a knowledgeable group of owners and lots of resources at your fingertips.

Thank you both for answering me. I really appreciate it. I was looking at one on Ebay and it sounded so neat, but after reading some reviews about how hard it was to thread, I decided not to bid on it, especially, since I would not have any lessons to learn how to use it. I have an Elna Pro DE that has been great, but I have been looking at some of the newer sergers and all of the new things that they can do.
