Found a used 630E, wanting to get into embroidery and I currently sew on an Artista 240.
Seller asking $1250 - not sure if this is a good value or not.
Thinking maybe if I start this route in a couple of years I can save up and dive into a new machine.
Thanks for your thoughts/comments!

That's a steal, almost too good to be true. check it out, make sure it's legit and in good working order. There are still 630s being sold new, though discontinued, for $3500 and more. I paid about $2300 for mine used, no embroidery. LOVE it! If I saw one for $1250, I'd have a hard time not buying it.

Absolutely go for it! That is if it's legit - I have one and it's a great machine.

I have one and love it. Where did you find such a stellar deal? It is going to go quickly, as they are harder to find and this is Bernina's best machine ever.

Machine or machine and embroidery unit? Either way it is a great deal. Mine new w/o emb. module was $3500, and this was 16 months ago.

Using a sewing machine is much easier than counted cross stitch or oil painting for me. I enjoy landscape quilting as well. I am working on my first applique project in the spring of 2014.

I agree with the others! Buy it if it works perfectly!! It's a workhorse!

Well, let's just say that I love my 630E that I bought new so much that I traded back for it at my Bernina dealer's after trading it in and being without it for about a year. Later sold it on eBay and bought it back from the seller when I saw that she had it listed for sale on eBay. And, yes it's the original machine.

If I ever decide I need a back-up/second machine, I'd have my dealer find me a 630/635.

It's the best Bernina available in my opinion. Of course I haven't tried the new 700 series, I simply can't get interested in them. I enjoyed my 830 for a few years, but eventually decided my 630 was my favorite machine. When I sold the 830, I added a 430. Those are two proven, problem free machines. The 630 does beautiful embroidery.

Great - have been trading emails with seller all day - it does include the embroidery unit which I'm mega excited about! Her location is about a three hour drive from me, but hey I can do that to get a great bargain

Gas up the car and get to driving. When do you get to see it?
