I should perhaps post pictures of my "craft room" and sewing space. I live in NYC, and we are actually very lucky. Our apartment has a 40s or 50s style his and hers dressing room--basically a hall with two double deep closets. I've got my sewing and knitting supplies in one closet, my sewing table and a folding table with serger on another fold out table, and my kitty has the second closet set up as his own personal "retiring room."

Someday I'd love to get those walls taken out (though kitty would hate to lose his private bathroom) so I could sew, cut, and iron all in one room!

demoiselle - your setup sounds lovely - especially with the added benefit of a kitty "retiring room." I had something a bit similar in an upstate NY 3-story home.

A dressing room in the master bedroom where my sewing desk sat in front of a window.

But my kitty loved to sit behind the machine to look down 2 stories - but only when I was sewing!

I have a whole extra bedroom now, in a ranch home, but there was something about that dressing room setup. And crazy Siamese.

Thanks for the memory - and enjoy your great space.
