Husqvarna Viking launched a new Opal series and Designer Topaz 50 (I saw pictures somewhere...). What about Sapphire 875 Quilt, is it going to have a face-lift? It has been in market about five, at least four years. Just wondering because Pfaff launched new Expressions 3.2 and 4.2 in May.

Btw, about HV's plastic foot ankle, does it brake easily? Just a silly question, Bernina presser feet has spoiled me

PS. I tested Sapphire 875 and i'm in love...

I'm betting there will be an 875 upgrade very soon. The plastic ankle is very sturdy and not at all prone to breakage or wear. Also Viking's feet are superb and there's LOTS of them for every task. They work as wonderfully as Bernina's.

Ok, my dealer told me what was coming out this last weekend. There is a new TOL called the Designer Diamond Royale. It's MSRP is going to be $10,999. The Topaz 50, which is now removed from their site. And two new Sapphire models with touch screens if I remember right. The TOL sewing only that's replacing the 875 sounds like their version of the Pfaff Performance 5.0 with the single hole needle plate that the machine detects when it's on. Also, their version of the HQ Sweet 16 and Babylock Tiara sit down long arm free motion machine. A new hoop is also going to be introduced.

But, this is supposed to be a secret! Shhhhh....

Oh, and 6D software is coming out. I think she said something about it being able to run only on Windows 7 and 8.

I have a Viking Interlude and thought the ankle couldn't possibly last so I ordered a spare one. The salespeople were quite surprised as they said they had never heard of one breaking. Well, it has been several years of sewing everything and I have yet to need the spare ankle!

hese61, I recently sold a Bernina 550QE that I had for less than a year and bought the 875Q. The presser feet are just as impressive as the Bernina feet. I am very happy with the 875 and am intrigued to see what will be replacing it as I have a one year trade up option with my local dealer.

I've had my Viking 1+ since 1996 and have had no problems with my ankle. It must not be made of the standard "made to wear out" plastic that everything else is made out of.

I wonder if they are going to come out with updated sergers. The latest models seemed to have some problems. In the studio promo pictures there was a serger in one of them and it looked like a 5-thread.

I did ask her about the sergers since they did show the back of a serger. She said no, that there isn't a new serger. She did mention something about Viking getting a new parts supplier for them since they were having a hard time with supply.

Anyway I looked to see if the manuals of the new machines were on the list that someone posted a link to before the Opals came out. Nothing new on the list yet.

My dealer also is selling the diamond deluxe's for $6499. There's a few people who just bought form her that are pretty ticked off.

I also saw a 6D post on their Facebook page a few days ago with mostly negative comments. Just checked it again and it looks like it has been removed.
