There are a number of sewing machine reviews for that model but the last one is from 2011.

Bernina You have to scroll down to where the "Artista" series starts. There are listed as Artista 180 and 180E (which includes embroidery).

What do you plan to use it for?

I want to be able to do embroidery. I have a Kenmore sewing machine that I got when I was still in school in 1964 as well as a 20 year old singer slant needle.

I want to get something that will be easy to operate and have a hoop bigger than 4x4. I have a new granddaughter and I am beginning to sew again.

I have a 180e. I purchased it new in 2002. I did a review of this machine in Pattern Review. You can read more about it there.
As far as the price, it is not a great buy, nor is it too high...probably a good midrange. Do you know how many stitches are on it? The owner can go into the machine and tell you.
Remember it is a computer and all computerized machines are not as sturdy as mechanical.
If I were in the market for an embroidery machine, I would get the latest on the market. The 180e has a serial port connection to your computer which would necessitate having an older computer with a serial port, or buying a USB to serial port adapter. You need to get a good one because some people have opted for the cheaper ones and they had trouble with them not working.
If you want this machine as a sewing machine, you will be very pleased, but as an embroidery machine, it is outdated. You might want to ask about the embroidery design software that comes with it. The version that came with it when new was Version 3 or 4, and it is outdated. The latest system the software will work on is Microsoft XP. You can download the latest Artlink from the Bernina site. It will allow you to transfer designs from your computer to the sewing machine, but again remember that serial port issue. The Artlink will not allow you to do any editing. It's main purpose is to serve as connection between the computer and the embroidery unit.
I don't mean to discourage you, it sounds like everything I am saying about the machine is negative, but I feel you need to know these things in order to make an informed decision.
As a sewing machine, I love mine!

ThinkGeek: "E-mail has been around since before computers. At first, e-mails were written on rocks and thrown at neighbors. CC-ing a rock e-mail could be dangerous for an entire village. Then, e-mails were written on paper and put in weird paper things called envelopes and the postal system delivered them. This was slow. Finally, e-mail as we know it came around."
