Burda Style 6/2013 pattern 112 Trousers 'Marlene'
It has a 2 dot difficulty but I'm sortof stuck (again)
I've got to the point where I've inserted the invisible zip (thanks to this forum) and I've got the facing on also (there's no waistband). I couldn't follow the pattern instructions at all but found a couple of tutorials and between them they got me to understand what to do.
But I'm not sure if I am supposed to do more with the facings?? Should they be attached to the trousers themselves anywhere... at the seams maybe? Or should I stitch the facing to the seam allowance all around?
Or maybe I should leave well enough alone? They aren't too bad and the facing stays put when I try them on...
The trousers are not hemmed yet, another chance to muck things up LOL
I would appreciate any advice on the facings, I think I will make these again in something I would wear out. Yes, out. Imagine. How cool would that be?

I made the short version of these pants. Since mine are really just play shorts, I stitched in the ditch for an inch or so towards the bottom of the facing where there was a side seam or dart. You can't really see the stitching because it should fall in the crease from either the dart or seam (except for where I may have messed up and veered outside of the crease a bit.) To remove the possibility of any stitching showing, you could put a couple hand stitches at each dart and or seam from the inside of the pant...keeping everything on the inside. -- Edited on 6/30/13 2:31 PM --
I found the magazine instructions difficult, the pants refer you to the shorts for the facing instructionsand because I couldn't understand them I found my own way. But then it sounded like the magazine wanted me to stitch the facing to the seam allowances, but I was unsure... oh confusion reigned!
I much prefer the sound of stitch in the ditch at the seams, in fact I might even hand sew them, to be safe.
