I have about 2 meters of 150 wide boiled wool which I really like but I just can't decided on a suitable jacket to make from it. This wool isn't that very stiff fabric I would probably describe it as a mid weight. Has anyone made a jacket up in boiled wool that they have been really happy with? If so could recommend a pattern?

My absolute favourite jacket is this Vogue pattern in boiled wool.
Boiled Wool Jacket
I actually love it so much I now own four versions in different colours. Some have zippers including zipper front pockets, two are longer, two only use the right front pattern piece so don't have the drape. It's an extremely versatile pattern and works well with boiled wool. HTH

To add to Sew4Fun suggestions - Vogue 1062. I've made it 4 times as well and have another planned.

That is a stunning jacket -- no wonder you sewed four versions!

Burda 7700

only problem is it doesn't start till size 12. I usually start with a 10, but it worked for me.

I haven't made this but it's been in my stash for awhile. It's meant for felted wool, but a lighter weight boiled wool should work, too, I would think. It looks fairly foolproof and I like its simple lines:

Belinda, I love your jacket. I think we may have even bought our boiled wool from the same shop near Ivanhoe?? I may even have that pattern stashed away in my cupboard too

Oh that is lovely too I just had a look at your review for the jacket and you have done such a lovely job on it. I haven't got this pattern but will look up the details on line. Thank you for your suggestion!

I do have this pattern and keep changing my mind about it. I agree that it looks pretty easy to make but as I am a size 16/18 I keep thinking it is boxy and could make me look like the side of a house
