August is an eventful month in our family: birthdays and anniversaries almost every single day. My son turns 24 on the 31st and please let me say that I am much more comfortable today than I was on August 1, 1989!

We're hoping for another motorcycle trip this month. Sturgis is in full swing a few miles northeast of here but we've been there, done that, and have enough t-shirts to last forever. Neither of us enjoy big rallies.

August is special to me since my DH's BD is in August which is special that he will have another BD this year...because 2 years ago he survived kidney cancer. He had that entire kidney removed and it was a hard time waiting for the test results that it had not metastasized.

He still gets lab tests, a CAT scan and a chest x-ray every 6 months (the chest x-ray because kidney cancer travels to the lungs even for non-smokers per his doctors)...so for the past two years so far so good. Also...August is the month he has a round of those 6 months' tests.

Last year (in August) there was also a concern that the remaining kidney was not doing well as a single kidney...but a change in his blood pressure med and a change in his diet helped his remaining kidney to kick in better. Happy BD DH!

I was going to post that my 39th wedding anniversary was later this weekend but checked the calendar and it is today! We are such hopeless romantics - not! LOL. We are going to a dance competition and spending the weekend with friends. What more could we ask?

Congrats tourist!!! That's awesome. I think my parents will be celebrating 39 years next month and the next month my husband and I will celebrate...3 years

I like your style. On our 2nd anniversary we wished each other Happy Anniversary and had Buffalo Wild Wings.

My August Sunshine: My kids, whom I love dearly, are spending the first 3 weeks of the month with Grandma and Grandpa in GA. It's been a fun week so far :)
