I made use of my own little lawn. Yes that is the whole lawn. :D.-- Also some of my tiny garden is in the pic -

It is a really soft quilt made from recycled t-shirts. There is thick beige chenille on the back with no batting. I quilted it with squares over the squares.

And one for the George lovers. On my back porch.

I also finished the binding of the other one.

Lots of work. The t-shirt one was on my couch for a week and is a George fur blanket at this point.

Beautiful! When I saw t-shirt quilt, I thought you'd be using the designs on t-shirts as blocks, but these are from unprinted pieces. Great idea! I'm planning one for my oldest daughter and I think I'll use the extra pieces to make into blocks too. Thanks for the great idea!

I sew with lots of t-shirt material. If Im going to try to piece it into anything "fancy" - I hit it with as much starch as possible. Squares I can do with no starch - even small 2 inch squares. But, If I have to handle it much or sew over parts more than once I starch it.

I made George a little god blanket to sleep on from the same patches. He is pretty happy.

Love the George hair magnet!!!! What great color arrangement in this quilt Portland! I do like the larger squares too, and omg all those Flying Geese you did in the other one WOW!

So glad always to see your tremendous quilts and also George!

Got to post my KayCee's "new" spot while I am trying in our 5th wheel camper to quilt Cowboy Camping.... she's laying on it pulling one way, while I'm quilting the other *sigh* Probably quilting her hair into this permanently, but hey like George's hair - it's part of the charm of the quilt!! :-)

Im pretty envious right now - one of my friends came over to visit tonight. His kid brother from outta town asked to play with the sewing machines. I set up the Grand Quilter for SS and the 15-91 for FMQ.

Dont you know that 15 year old kid got FMQ down without a single nest on the first try?! He made a few letters and everything! Great job! I was green with envy. I had a hard time getting FMQ right. Still, Im only good at doing it my way. I cant do the things other people do with stencils and patterns.

But - man first try! On the old Singer!

Don't be envious. He 'got' it because he had NO IDEA he was supposed to nervous about it or there is some sort of "way' to go about it.

LOVE your T-shirt quilt! I can just imagine how soft and comfy it is.
