Hi, all. I am researching comments and recommendations on Simplicity 1872. A lot of PR members are doing this:
"I also added elastic into the waistband seam using the seam as the casing, like others I don't know why this is not included in the instructions as it really is needed." From this review.
What does that mean? Anyone have pictures of this process?

Thanks!

Once you sew the waist seam, there will be 5/8-inch seam allowances on the inside of the waist.

Sew a second line of stitching in the seam allowance at 1/8-inch from the edge, leaving an opening. Now you've turned the waist seam allowance into a 1/2-inch casing or tube.

Insert thin elastic into that casing to provide an elasticized waist for the dress.

Edited for grammar.
