My nephew is considering purchasing a used Bernina Artista 630 for his wife. I know she wants to do some type of continuous hooped embroidery. Is it possible on an older machine?

Yes and no. The machine doesn't have that feature built in, nor a specific hoop for it, however it isn't really difficult to do with software. You simply digitize a pair of reference marks and stitch them out with the first sewout, then hoop your stabilizer only for the next hooping, stitch the reference marks onto it, hoop your fabric and line up using the reference marks. That's probably not very clear, sorry.

Clear enough and some tips I am going to write down for myself too because I also have a 630. You answered my question, and thank you!
